Get Your Camera Phones Ready!
28 September 2011

If you've driven by our lot in P'ville recently and wondered where our equipment has disappeared to, it's on location! Here's a great shot of the G.I. Joe 2 backlot.  If you have a good pic of our equipment on set, email it to shelly@filmfleet.com.  You will receive a Film Fleet t-shirt!  And, of course, a special thanks mention on our website.  (This picture happens to have been taken by our fearless leader, Phil Schriber.)

Crew Helping Crew – Wildfire Affects One of Our Own
09 September 2011

Our friend and co-worker, Duane Bunker, has been a 15 year resident of Bastrop, Texas.  He lost the home he shared with his sons and granddaughters in the on-going wildfire.  Most importantly, we are thankful that his family and his dogs were not harmed – but nothing is left of the home.  Duane has insurance, but of course it will take some time to kick in and insurance will never cover the expense of all items lost.

It’s possible you know Duane from set, as he has worked quiet and tirelessly as a film production driver for many years.  He has also racked up thousands of miles delivering Film Fleet’s equipment to Chicago, Boston, Charlotte, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Shreveport and endless locations in Texas.   He has driven or delivered equipment for Longhorn Car-Truck Rentals, Elliott Location Equipment, Jerad Productions, Wiseman’s Wagons and so many more.  He's also the guy holding the "T" in our group photo!

Beginning this very minute, Film Fleet will begin selling our famed t-shirts and 100% of the proceeds will go to Duane Bunker and his family.

A minimum donation of $20.00 will get you a white or grey, short-sleeve, 6.1 ounce, cotton Film Fleet t-shirt!

A minimum donation of $30.00 will get you a black, long-sleeve, 6.1 ounce, cotton…with pocket…hot-off-the-press Film Fleet Flame t-shirt!

Below are the details of the t-shirt sales and donation collections…

For t-shirt sales through Pay Pal:

Payments may be sent to pinehillloop@yahoo.com.  Please include your mailing address and t-shirt preference (and size) in the comments section.

For t-shirt sales by check:

Checks may be issued to Thomas Duane Bunker and mailed to Film Fleet, PO Box 70, McNeil TX 78651.  Please include your mailing address and t-shirt preference (and size).

For t-shirt sales by cash:

You may hand-deliver cash (or checks) anytime during normal business hours.  Film Fleet is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.  Give us a jingle at (512) 478-5100 and let us know you are headed out.

It’s no doubt that someone you know has been affected by these tragic wildfires.  There are thousands of displaced residents around the area that need assistance.  We appreciate your generosity for one of our own.  After all, we are just crew helping crew.

P.S.  Do not be afraid to forward this e-mail!  We will keep selling t-shirts as long as y’all keep buying them.  And when we run out…we will just print more!

Film Fleet says good-bye to the Queen of the Texas Film Commission!
17 July 2011

Ms. Carol Pirie is officially retiring after serving the Texas Film Commission and the great state of Texas for 23 years.  She has been a great friend, advisor and all-around fantabulous person.  Carol will be greatly missed by all of us at Film Fleet.  It was a great honor to celebrate the end of an era!
